RHS Wisley | Part I

The back to school season is approaching fast. And soon summer will collapse into an autumn-y haze of notebooks, note taking & reading. Before you know it, we'll all be ruggedly wrapped up in coats, tall boots & cushioned scarves.
A family affair took us to Wisley. Cake was gorged, picnics were eaten, landscapes were admired, fish were fed, photos were shot...

Bore Da Wales

Like all good journeys we set out in the early hours of the morning with only the hope of the open road & breakfast.
But we eventually made it to Pembrokeshire, with bellies full of  motorway pick-up croissants & crossed the Severn Bridge just as the sun started to peak through the clouds.
This week I'm staying in this little place.

With this view to wake up to

And this view to eat dinner to

Dinner has usually been washed down with a few of these

And we're spending most of our days in these

And (of course) eating many of these

This flavour is Celtic Crunch or Pembroksehire Punch (depending on where you're at!) It's a vanilla-y, honeycomb with nibbly bits of caramel, Amaraetto & dark chocolate.
Mary's Farmhouse is the best I've found. They do a mean coffee too.

Tuesday

Elvie in Wales

We rescued Elvie just over a year ago.
She's a bit stroppy & a bit of a scavenger, but we love her nonetheless.
She reminds me of a *whispers* bad version of Maddie.
Elvie likes nothing more than food, boys and sunbathing (as you can see).
Crazy dawgg.

Oh, and Scooby wanted to say haii too

Monday

Pup Walk

Sunday started as all Sundays should: with pancakes.
After several heaped plates of crispy bacon, berries & maple syrup pancakes I started to think my gravestone would read, "Death by Pancakes". Deliriously full, the breakfast table topic of conversation turned to whether anyone had died just from pancakes. We concluded a firm probably.
Groaning with fullness we rolled out the door, up the hill, through the woods and walked with the pups along the wheat fields.

Tuesday

Home Scenes

{Hanging Origami Paper Crane}{Roast Peppers}{New Lilies}{Endless Pile Of Magazines}{Feathered Leaf Lights}{Creeper}{Candle Light}and *drumroll*{My Left Wrist}

Summer, so far has been a haze of road trips, bbq's, drinks, sunbathing & picnics. It's also been b-e-a-utiful weather, so as for the rest of the time I've been refilling the ice cube holder.

Monday

West Wittering Polaroids

(This might surprise you but...)
The beach is a great place.
I'm a huge fan.

Thursday

New Flupsy

Meet our new family member.

She's full of kisses

And unexpected nose prints

So far, her favourite activities are eating & running through the flower beds; she's pretty good at both.
Oh and sleeping! Shleepyy pup.

Friday

Raft Race

I was cheering on the side of the river's bank in the rain. I was probably about five & I was watching my Aunt paddle down the River with a water gun hooked under her arm. There were water balloons, eggs & flour bombs being thrown left, right & centre. It took me a little while to realise that this was an extraordinary event not just her regular weekend fix.

That was however many moons ago.
The charity raft race has been going for thirty years now & this year the theme was film characters.

It was all very Hollywood, with Disney, Pixar & Bond sailing down the Wey. But then things got competitive...

I'm so sorry "The Jungle Book Boaters" but your sinking ship was hilarious viewing!

Nerds, I present to you: The Starship Enterprise.
Gotta say though, snow ploughs as paddles - genius!

And then in last place was the numpties in penguin onesies...Happy Feet?!
