RHS Wisley | Part II
Ya know, sometimes art just doesn't communicate with you. Well, for me, this looks like one side of a twisty broken pelvis? No one else get that, maybe? Maybe a little?
I guess that's modern art.
I was more enticed by the giant leaves. I felt like Alice in Wonderland wiggling round them & ducking under.
Also, when I'm old and grey, this is (part of) the garden I want.
Manicured & landscaped. With grass that is strictly no bugs. It's not even grass it's a lawn. A lawn for picnics and reading and dozing.

RHS Wisley | Part I
The back to school season is approaching fast. And soon summer will collapse into an autumn-y haze of notebooks, note taking & reading. Before you know it, we'll all be ruggedly wrapped up in coats, tall boots & cushioned scarves.
A family affair took us to Wisley. Cake was gorged, picnics were eaten, landscapes were admired, fish were fed, photos were shot...
Sunday
Bristol Gardens
Yesterday afternoon we set up camp in the gardens. We found a patch of sun & shade and were happy to be tucked away from the madness of Brighton beach.
Reading our books in the garden, playing a bit of frisbee, a bit of giant tennis, flicking through magazines & drinking litres of (unintentionally) warm water.
And then we legged it to the seafront & jumped in! (along with the rest of the population of Brighton)

Summer Skies
It's here! Quick, grab your flip-flops, chuck flowers in your hair and put on your prettiest, most floaty dress.
This week has given us constant sunshine. We're even hotter than North Africa today!
Though the parks may become more crowded, the traffic is easing which means more all day road trips, with the roof down and not a care in the world. Sunshine equates evenings in the garden drinking Pimm's, eating all night at BBQs & taking the dogs to the river. It's also a wonderfully childish excuse to make ice lollies and have water fights!
Oh, Summer, you have been missed.

Orchids Galore
My Grandma has the greenest of fingers but as much as I admire her, I haven't quite got them myself. That being said, I was fascinated by the orchids at this exhibition. It all got a bit Gatsby on us.
“…an evening dress tangled among dying orchids on the floor beside her bed.”
I can see why people of all ages get so addicted to collecting these almost alien-esqe looking flowers. The array of colours, hybrids, shapes, spots all look a bit futuristic to my untrained eye but to the collector's their fancy names can dissect their breed, origin and shape.

The Butterfly Glasshouse
A little while ago I visited my first butterfly house. Their home is modern and stands elegantly with a surrounding lake guarding it. As you approach the glasshouse it looks as if it's floating on top of the water; it's surprisingly futuristic looking! The house is split into three climates: desert, tropical and temperate. As we strolled round with our coats, scarves, gloves and hats in hand we watched the butterflies flutter by...
The orchids were pretty exotic too...
