Saturday

Calm After The Storm | La Tania

You know how I mentioned the weather's changeable temperament... well on Saturday the weather turned and our plans had to be altered.
So, we sat, tea in hand, watching the layers of clouds roll in and the lightening spark up the surronding mountains.
The Alps are really a breathtaking part of the world, and I've loved being here in late summer.
Everywhere you look, spikey mountains roll and jagged rocks burst out. Thunder gently trundled through the valley and slowly became a rumble echoing through the pines from the distance.

The rain cleared and the sky blended to blue again, so we flung open the doors but left the fire burning into the night.

Being our last day, we 'had toeat up the leftovers. That equated to toasted marshmallows squidged between Oreos & chocolate Leibniz biscuits - try it! It's as amazing as it sounds.

I couldn't think of better way to conclude our trip, it also prepared us for our last adventure - a hearty breakfast of whitewater rafting!

Thursday

Pre-Bubble Hike

We did a mad thing.
We hiked up a mountain.
Before anyone else was even awake. I blame the Nespresso machine (again).

No man was seen, apart from this little guy.

He spurred us on, gave us a quick pep talk and we eventually made it to the top!

Once we got down we collapsed into the chalet, only to find the small *best impression of David Attenborough* (still) indulging in her natural habitat...

We scooted off and waited patiently for lunch.

Then foooood!

And a few drinks...ahem..

Friday

Lac De Bozel | Summer in The Alps

The Alps are amazing.

But after a sweaty hike or bike ride all to be done is a big jump into a pool of water.

But unfortunately, the pools are packed in the mountain villages & the rivers are ice cold glacial rapids.

Luckily, someone engineered the construction of the lake in Bozel.

Somehow it's never busy, and I think Lac De Bozel is a bit of gem between the rocks.
C looking very Top of the Lake...

There's a nice little caf on the edge of the lake, serving lunch & beer.
And other good things, but those two are what you need after a hungry wild swim.

From the rocks we demonstrated to the small how to dive, and kept going until the sun went behind the clouds & too much lake water went in our eyes.

Thursday

Mountain Biking in Le Praz

Le Praz is a village at the foot of Courchevel.
It's full of sporty French men & women, and is a hub for paragliding, kayaking on the mini lake, ski-ing (of course), fishing, tough mudder type dress up runs & you can't miss the giant ski jumps.

I tried to fit in... but the wind was too strong for paragliding, so we all opted for mountain biking instead.
We manoeuvred our way into the bubble, and once we reached the top we took some time to admire the views & map out our route back to La Tania.

We took a green straight across to La Tania and a mixture of red, blue & green down to our chalet - which was a little sticky in parts!

Time for a well earned ice cream.

Then it was time to retreat back to our chosen spots at the chalet, taking turns to nap in the snug.
