Wednesday
In The Farmer's Field
The vivid yellow fields of rapeseed are a familiar sight across the countryside. And I'm lucky enough to have one (pretty much) in my back garden.
I always end up losing, & then chasing the dogs along the rows of yellowness.
Rapeseed has become the fastest growing segment of the oil market & it's starting to feed more & more of us & less cattle.
Unfortunately I don't love the stuff, the fertiliser stinks. But the fields are always so sunny & bright plus my ma (and Raymond Blanc) swear by it for roast potatoes. And they're the best roast 'tatoes I've ever eaten.
